Looping

Spring 2019
Design studio - C.G. Jung center

Taking inspiration from C.G. Jung’s conce[t of individualization, this project embodies structurally the three key components of the process: inward exploration, outward expression, and harmonization. The project features two continuous looping planes framing the inward circulation and the outward circulation, representing the process of harmonization.

Through the looping organization, the two planes simultaneously frame the inward programs (therapy, library, and research)and the outward programs (galleries, auditorium, and classrooms). While the two planes carries different programs, they work in harmony as they become each other’s roof. Only as they loop around each other do the programs take shape within the building’s spatial form.
