Inspired by Chinese and Bulgarian’s folklores, this project begins with a kite as the combination of two cultures’ animal representations (Chinese sparrow kite and Bulgarian Kukeri costume), and ends shattered, casted in concrete debris. This project’s two phases dealt with different expressions of wilderness and taming. While in the first phase, the kite abstract wild animals only representing them as open-ended aesthetics and symbologies. In the second phase, the kite is physically destroyed and casted as a random construction waste, returning to the modern wilderness.
