For this project the client requested we design plant-themed display furniture for the bookstore in Beijing Horti-expo 2019. Starting from researching five publicly loved bookstores and three plant-themed businesses, I researched displays used in creative bookstores and plant stores. After comparing and combining the common design themes, I noticed how both displays tended to be presented at average eye and sitting level. Both displays for books and plants present an opportunity for diverse and stable supports and surfaces.

Therefore, I proposed a display shelf made of PVC grids for shelf boards and PVC tubes for holding plants’ pots. The PVC boards provide diverse supports for book displays and the PVC tubes stabilize each pot and support the whole shelf.
